Information request from Richard Hewlings at English Heritage
Richard Broad, and perhaps an older man of the same name,occur/s at Dyrham in 1698 and at Prideaux Place, Padstow, in 1739, the latterin conjunction with Ralph Allen. According to a website called The AcornArchive, Ralph Allen sent him to work at Lord Peterborough's in 1730. Lord P's main house was at Parson's Green,but he also had a villa outside Southampton called Bevis Mount, which he wasembellishing with statuary c 1734; he died in 1735.
Who of the Bath experts might know about this man, orpossibly two men?
